During the performance, the film is projected onto the background of the stage. By creating a close electricity circuit between my arms, fruits and my computer, each touch of my finger generates sounds in distinct notes and pitches. The computer interacts with my music with various effects through synthesizers, my collaborative violinist will play the violin and have vocal sound interact with music, my touch of non-human agency/fruits, and the film projecting onto the screen for about 5 minutes. Then I will read a text for about 10 minutes with an emphasis on using eroticism to counteract the censorship and political regime. Then I will touch the sculpture and the touch of different parts of the sculpture, and interact with the different layers of hands touching fruits in the background of the fruits, which is accompanied by my violinist partner’s violin and vocals and the music I produced. Meantime, I plan to attach the forearm of the audience and invite them to interact with the performance at this public/artistic engagement.
The idea of my research/project is to use eroticism to counteract the repressive regime of a totalitarian political system. The activation of the kinetic sculpture also proves the affect of artwork, which potentially provokes physiological responsiveness and thought to be provoked.
