The Establishment of International Laboratory of Social Innovation–China’s Central Academy of Fine Arts City Design School
International Laboratory of Social Innovation–China’s Central Academy of Fine Arts City Design School has been established by and between Open Hub, Propositivo, and the City Design School of China’s Central Academy of Fine Arts(CAFA) (subsequently called The Parties) on May 9th, 2016.It will be represented by Marco Serra, Patrizia Cinti, and Gao Chang as founders of the International Laboratory of Social Innovation (ILSI). Gian Luca Atzori and Maura Fancello, and Chang Gao are in charge as directors of ILSI. The Parties intend to engage in cooperation on matters of mutual interest and concern in the broad field of social innovation.
ILSI “Gao Chang”–China’s Central Academy of Fine Arts City Design School
The Establishment of ILSI “Gao Chang”–China’s Central Academy of Fine Arts City Design School will provide a cooperation platform for Open Hub, Propositivo, and CAFA’s City Design School. It is based on the research achievement and design idea of the Public Art Research Center of China, and constitutes a new cooperation mode for interdisciplinary projects and social innovation between China and the world.
Brief Description of the parties
• Open Hub is a none-profit association with the aim of promoting social innovation;Open Hub works in collaboration with public and private sectors in the national and international field, in order to build a cooperative network for the diffusion and exchange of knowledge, experiences, methodologies,projects and ideas through the foundation of Laboratories of Social Innovation, further denoted in the text as ILSI;
Open Hub, actively promotes the creation of ILSI with a broad range of goals in the university field, educational field, and territorial development field, promoting formative events and research activities oriented toward problem solution, experimenting new methodologies and approaches which value people, cultures and human relations.
Open Hub adopts a network vision based on an horizontal cooperation model, which is the distinctive trait of all its projects and the base for all its cooperation, which has been and will be built.

• Propositivo is a none-profit association with the aim of promoting good practices worldwide and linking them together with a constructive, sustainable and innovative vision;
Propositivo works in collaboration with experts, schools, universities, associations, municipalities, institutions and small and medium-sized enterprises on a national and international level;
Propositivo links ideas, associations, institutions together with the aim of inspiring communities with similar problems to look to each other and to work together to find possible solutions with an innovative approach, and by experimenting new methodologies;Propositivo adopts a proactive approach based on the idea that proactivity, resilience, and local communities give rise to a powerful trinomial combination of suitable values to promote cultural and economical development and social innovation;

• CAFA’s City Design School
Responding to the Ministry of Culture of China, CAFA’s City Design School is the key actor in facilitating communication and integration between art and design education in China, leading research in public art and design while exercising a strategic influence on China’s urban design and environment with the aim of responding to the epochal mission of China’s urban development. CAFA’s City Design School is in charge of research across various degrees and practices in the field of art and urban design in order to convey the artistic potential of systemic urban design’s expertise and talent for the benefit of China’s urban development. To achieve this goal, the school produces multifaceted educational and academic results in the direction of urban-social design through a practice-oriented teaching method, posing itself as the linking point of exchange between academia and social reality, in order to create a new type of academic ecosystem. CAFA’s City Design School has contributed to the research, programs, national subjects, exhibitions, publications, and urban design seminars.
