Book Launch: Grasp a Seat: imagine noThing until it becomes someThing
Thank you for the beautiful book launch at @kulturfabrikmoabit : Grasp a Seat: imagine noThing until it becomes someThing—with witness testimonies and reflections by participants and guests of the Imaginary Institution, marking the first anniversary of the Open Air Museum of Decoloniality at Alexanderplatz (Sept. 2023 – Sept. 2024).
I am delighted to have my project and article Desire, AI and Public Intimacy published within this powerful collection—a series of public art interventions conducted in the contested public space of Alexanderplatz.
Merging augmented reality interfaces, an ECG heart-rate interactive sculpture, sound, reading, and electronics in public space, my performance Desire, AI and Public Intimacy attempts to confront political repression, the surveillance of police, AI and digital networks, and hegemonic control at Alexanderplatz. This was an inspiring collaboration with opera singer Jessica Aszodi, and De_coloniallanguage.
I was also very pleased to join the deeply enriching discussion, together with Denis Esakov, Marina Solnzewa, and Irina Denkma on the meaning of public space and public intervention, focusing on synchronized body gestures, public intimacy, and non-symbolic representation in relation to censorship and unspeakable narratives.
