Beauty Inside-Chrysanthemum 《笙歌韶乐在其中—菊》

This series of work is based on real female’s underwear and bra size. The main parts are carved in different types of woods. This series of work combines a traditional sculpture materials with female daily-life necessities, aiming to rethink the female’s ornamental place, which are been observed under the male conscious society. “ the flower of plum, orchid, bamboo, lotus, and chrysanthemum” are five types of flowers that symbolizes “Proud, Elegance, Strength, Indifferent to Farm and wealth”, which are four noble characters of gentlemen in Chinese traditional culture. The combination of the flower pattern and lady’s underwear is a way to express the ironic meaning of “Beauty Inside”.
